A New Start

Being a consultant in the software development world. I move around on a semi regular basis. With that said, I have had contracts that have lasted into 3 years and others that only last a few months. Every now and then it is good to get a new start. I am putting on the finishing touches on a contract that I am leaving. This contract could have taken me into 2009, but I found that it was time to move on. I spent far to many moments utterly frustrated. I am very aware of the cause and I am also very aware that there is nothing that I can do to rectify the problem. I am not the type of person who will stick around and complain about something. I will first try to fix it or if it doesn't want to be fixed, I will move on. No need to dwell on something that will only cause you grief.

In my past I have encountered people that would be utterly frustrated by the same situation for years, but when asked what they were going to do about it to change it, they were stumped... Fresh out of ideas. I came along and worked with them and for a few months experienced their grief. The difference between me and them was that while I was grieving, I was also planning.

Now with my current situation, I have found resolution within me, I am leaving, so the catalysts to my departure no longer have any weight on me. I have resolved any lingering conflict that was there. To the point that if I need to, I could stay. But alas, I am expected somewhere else in the New Year. Nothing like starting the year with a new contract. I will be the first time I have ever done this. With a new contract comes a clean slate. It reminds me of the work of the cross. When I am forgiven, all is new between me and God. Likewise with a new contract. I get to establish new connections, to be the salt in a new environment. It is truly exciting.
A new year is coming and with that a new me to start a new contract. All very new.

Roof Rust?

My 2000 Jeep Cherokee is in the shop. The roof started rusting during the summer. Well I guess it started showing through the paint over the summer. I came out of the winter with no visible marks on it. I just got a call from the shop manager, he told me that he has never seen a roof in this bad of shape. They just got it striped and the entire thing is brown. They are going to sad blast it, which will warp it, but if they don't then it will only last 3 months. Talk about discouraging. My plan is to keep it for a few years more. Everything runs great on it. If the bottom was rusting then I wouldn't be too concerned, that's how cars are suppose to rust. From the bottom up not from the top down.

Hopefully, a few more days and it will be back to normal life without a Yaris as a rental. Great times.

The Land of Kör is here.

I spent a bit of time over the last couple of days creating the Land of Kör blog. I have invited all 4 players to join so that they can start adding their part to the story. Two of them have accepted, sweet. Things will get exciting as the story unfolds.

I've added the link to my side bar.

I guess I am a Post-Charismatic

I have been reading a website by Robby Mac about Post-Charismatic. I found the link to it while reading Frank's Blog.

It is an incredible read. I find myself identifying with alot of the author's writting. I can appreciate the amount of effort that has gone into creating this website. It truly is an enourmous undertaking to address all of the topics that are being addressed in this work.

If you are like me, a person who has been involved in hyped controling church and have walked away from it feeling hurt and wounded. You will really identify with what is put forward on this site.

From reading this site I have gained understanding to where the paradigms were coming from. Also, from reading the Assemblies of God responses to what they had been faced with in the topics covered, I have gained a new respect for them.

I would like to thank you Robby McAlpine for the time and research that you have devoted to this publication. I appreciate the 'matter of fact' way you present your arguments and do not slam any sides. I has changed my perspective and has given me new wind for my sails.

A whole day with the kids.

I spent the whole day hanging out with the Kids on Saturday. Michelle (Mom) and her sister(Chantal) got to hang out and go shopping for the day. That left me at home with my precious kids. We watched movies, played games, played music together; David is pretty good with his homemade shaker.

I think the highlight for the kids was going out to KFC for lunch. We shared a combo and they sure seemed to enjoy it.

When Mom got home later in the afternoon she was quite tired from her day and wanted to take a nap. That was fine for the kids and I since we were having a great time. We watched our last movie had supper when mom woke up. Needless to say that they didn't need to be convinced to go to bed that night.

I surely did enjoy that day.
