My 2000 Jeep Cherokee is in the shop. The roof started rusting during the summer. Well I guess it started showing through the paint over the summer. I came out of the winter with no visible marks on it. I just got a call from the shop manager, he told me that he has never seen a roof in this bad of shape. They just got it striped and the entire thing is brown. They are going to sad blast it, which will warp it, but if they don't then it will only last 3 months. Talk about discouraging. My plan is to keep it for a few years more. Everything runs great on it. If the bottom was rusting then I wouldn't be too concerned, that's how cars are suppose to rust. From the bottom up not from the top down.
Hopefully, a few more days and it will be back to normal life without a Yaris as a rental. Great times.
